About Us

Joe Kuhlen (left) is President of Sandy Valley Avionics.  Joe began his aviation career working in a maintenance shop while working on his pilot certificates.  He went on to fly for a number of part 135 and part 121 operators.  In between flying airplanes, Joe has worked on numerous aircraft projects from Stearman to Vans RV, Cessna, Maule, Pitts, and Aero L-39 aircraft.  In addition to his FAA certificates, Joe also has a FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL) with Ship Radar Endorsement.
